Summary

By the bestselling author of JoJo's Bizare Adventure。 Stunning illustrations depict an original fantasy story in this captivating graphic novel。 As Rohan, a young Japanese manga artist, is drawing, he meets a mysterious, beautiful woman who tells him of a cursed 200-year-old painting。 The painting was created using the blackest ink ever known, which came from a 1,000-year-old tree that the painter had cut down without the approval of the Emperor。 The painter was executed for this, but the painting was saved from destruction by a curator of the Louvre。 A decade later, Rohan visits Paris and asks the museum to unearth the painting from deep within its archives—but he is completely unprepared for the power of the curse he has unleashed。

This was definitely a fun read。 The art is classic Araki and with the addition of color, it's truly gorgeous to look at。 The story itself was creepy in the best way, and felt a lot like a Junji Ito story。 Definitely recommended for JoJo and manga fans。 This was definitely a fun read。 The art is classic Araki and with the addition of color, it's truly gorgeous to look at。 The story itself was creepy in the best way, and felt a lot like a Junji Ito story。 Definitely recommended for JoJo and manga fans。 。。。more

The story is simple, but has some Lovecraftian horror/mystery vibes。 The art is, as expected by Araki, absolutely gorgeous。 A nice, short read。

This was the first book not in any Latin alphabet that I bought willingly。 It was in Chinese, but who could resist Hirohiko Araki's gorgeous colored line work。 The language barrier was easily overcome by the author's sublime graphic storytelling。The book itself is in an oversized graphic album format, the perfect medium for the art to mesmerize you。 This was the first book not in any Latin alphabet that I bought willingly。 It was in Chinese, but who could resist Hirohiko Araki's gorgeous colored line work。 The language barrier was easily overcome by the author's sublime graphic storytelling。The book itself is in an oversized graphic album format, the perfect medium for the art to mesmerize you。 。。。more

I definitely recommend this book if you are familiar with Araki's work or a fan JoJo。 Not only is each panel beautifully drawn, but the story is very enjoyable and, dare I say, bizarre。 It's a must have! Interesting side story starring Rohan Kishibe from Diamond is Unbreakable。The cover is gorgeous and the book is bigger than the usual Jojo books。 The art is beautiful on the inside too。 It’s nice seeing it in full color。 The story isn’t anything too special but I would say it’s worth owning just for the art!

I absolutely loved it!! Rohan is one of my favorite chatacter of JJBA serie and i was happy to learn more about his past。 The storyline with nanase was so beautiful and i was very touched of the delicate drawing during the crying scene。 However i think people would love it more if they watched or read jojo’s bizarre adventures and especially diamond is unbreakable part before reading rohan at the louvre

The art style is superb as expected。This is a spin-off that takes place after JJBA part 4 without much of a connection to the original story。 Rohan at the Louvre is a relatively simple story, so don't expect a JJBA-class action or plot。 That being said, it's an entertaining-enough piece of work。 Absolutely beautiful to look at。 I decided it'd be better to get as a collectible than an action figure。 I don't see myself selling it or giving it away anytime in the future。Note: the official English t The art style is superb as expected。This is a spin-off that takes place after JJBA part 4 without much of a connection to the original story。 Rohan at the Louvre is a relatively simple story, so don't expect a JJBA-class action or plot。 That being said, it's an entertaining-enough piece of work。 Absolutely beautiful to look at。 I decided it'd be better to get as a collectible than an action figure。 I don't see myself selling it or giving it away anytime in the future。Note: the official English translation is a bit off 。。。more

I loved it。 Rohan is one of my favorite characters, so seeing more of him always pleases me, but this is one of my favorite manga so far。 (Is there such thing as too many Rohan OVAs? Guess what? No。 Keep them coming。)

Note: My knowledge of Jojo’s is this – there are people and stands。So, armed with my lack of knowledge and my sister’s desire to have me read this, I decided to give it a shot。 I’m happy I did。 The art style, colors, and panels were amazing, so much so that I had to reread several pages throughout because it was distracting (in a good way)。 The story was straightforward, and even if it took a while to get to the action scenes, I didn’t feel like I was waiting forever。 I think if I knew the chara Note: My knowledge of Jojo’s is this – there are people and stands。So, armed with my lack of knowledge and my sister’s desire to have me read this, I decided to give it a shot。 I’m happy I did。 The art style, colors, and panels were amazing, so much so that I had to reread several pages throughout because it was distracting (in a good way)。 The story was straightforward, and even if it took a while to get to the action scenes, I didn’t feel like I was waiting forever。 I think if I knew the characters and main story more, I would have a deeper appreciation for this。 That said, I’d still pick it up again for an easy read。 。。。more

Rohan hears of a mysterious painting and visits the Louvre to track it down。 A delightful, gory, and surprisingly straight stand-alone adventure with plenty of excellent poses and a very brief cameo by some familiar faces from Morioh。

Rohan at the Louvre is a perfect story to compliment the insanity of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series while continuing the story of Rohan Kishibe。 Rohan has always had a captivating past, which we have seen developing since Part 4 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure。 This story delves deeper into his past which make us see for ourselves the experiences that shaped him into the person he is, the character we grew to know and love in Diamond is Unbreakable (Part 4)。 The plot of the story is brilliantly Rohan at the Louvre is a perfect story to compliment the insanity of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series while continuing the story of Rohan Kishibe。 Rohan has always had a captivating past, which we have seen developing since Part 4 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure。 This story delves deeper into his past which make us see for ourselves the experiences that shaped him into the person he is, the character we grew to know and love in Diamond is Unbreakable (Part 4)。 The plot of the story is brilliantly executed and compliments Rohan’s character perfectly, and gives us an inside look on just how far his curiosity can possibly take him。 “Reality is the lifeblood that makes a work pulse with energy。 Reality itself is entertainment!” When we experience Rohan’s reality for ourselves, it becomes a story that we all become drawn to- we become drawn to Rohan’s reality, and it is pulsing with energy every step of the way。 。。。more

Great color illustrations from Araki with one of his more memorable characters, but it was over too soon! It seemed like it was only getting started。

After watching the anime for Diamond is Unbreakable, and loudly announcing to anyone who cared to listen that Rohan Kishibe is my favorite JoJo character (at least in that arc), I was shocked and delighted to discover that there was a spin-off manga that focused just on this misanthropic artist。The reviews on Goodreads got me really hyped。 The negative ones all seemed to be from people who weren't familiar with JoJo (this book was commissioned by the Louvre, so it's possible someone could read i After watching the anime for Diamond is Unbreakable, and loudly announcing to anyone who cared to listen that Rohan Kishibe is my favorite JoJo character (at least in that arc), I was shocked and delighted to discover that there was a spin-off manga that focused just on this misanthropic artist。The reviews on Goodreads got me really hyped。 The negative ones all seemed to be from people who weren't familiar with JoJo (this book was commissioned by the Louvre, so it's possible someone could read it and not be a JoJo fan), and the positive ones were all from otaku who love Araki's work。。。。so, obviously, this would be my favorite, right?I think that's part of the problem。 I allowed myself to get too hyped up。 And even during the time while I waited for my book to come in at the library。。。the tension just kept building。 Other books were coming in, but I was still waiting for this one。。。I was getting really excited about it。。。and I think I built it up too much in my head, so I was disappointed when it wasn't the most beautiful, most perfectly amazing thing I've ever read。By which I mean, I'll have to read this again in a few months, with the understanding that it's not going to be perfect, but it's going to be good。And now for the review:(What, you didn't think that was it, did you?)I actually really enjoyed this book, once I boiled all the hype out of it。 It was atmospheric, suspenseful, and definitely had that JoJo vibe running through it。 Although, since it showcased Araki's more recent art style (less buff and more feminine posing), and obviously most of the cast we've come to love weren't really included, I guess I would call this "JoJo Lite"。 The build-up to the story was excellent, though, and I found myself getting really drawn in to the creepy tale。 It was interesting, too, to see Rohan in a different light。 Obviously, this is not the spider-licking psycho from Diamond is Unbreakable。 First, we see a younger, softer, more vulnerable Rohan, followed by a more somber and mature one。 Not quite as fun as the anime, but definitely worth a read。 I especially recommend this one to Rohan fans。 。。。more

I believe Rohan is one of the most fascinating characters at the Jojo Universe because of his apparently stoic but passionate personality。 This book gets more into him and his past with stunning art from Araki and it is just beautiful。

Beautiful and terrifying! The art captivates you into this horror story, I found myself scared and excited, turning the next page while holding my breathe。 As I was finishing the novel, my hubby asked a question, I was so enraptured in the horror, I jumped and screamed(thinking for a split second I got the curse)。 Ha, I almost accidentally gave him a black eye。 I absolutely love when a story takes me away into its pages。 This graphic manga gave me such a experience, I only hope you get capture Beautiful and terrifying! I FUCKING ADORE KISHIBE ROHAN。 Damn。 I needed this。 It was beautiful。 Hirohiko Araki remains a superb artist and storyteller。 And the ending was like something out of buzzfeed unsolved: supernatural。 Jojo never fails to bring some happiness into my life, that’s why it’s my favorite and you all totally need to do yourself a favor and check it out。

Another one of the comics produced by the Louvre, which is unique, I don't think any other 'normal?' museum does this。 The story is a frightening little horror bit, the art was decent, it's also not the normal Big Eyes Small Mouth Japanese manga style。 The coloring and composition were also nice, there's no other artists listed in the book so I assume Hirohiko Araki did everything himself。 A fast, somewhat bizarre read。 Another one of the comics produced by the Louvre, which is unique, I don't think any other 'normal?' museum does this。 The story is a frightening little horror bit, the art was decent, it's also not the normal Big Eyes Small Mouth Japanese manga style。 The coloring and composition were also nice, there's no other artists listed in the book so I assume Hirohiko Araki did everything himself。 A fast, somewhat bizarre read。 。。。more
